What happened
Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to persistent late payment of rent. The Tenant owed over $20,000 in rent arrears and had not made a payment since September 2020.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective August 10, 2021. The Tenant must move out by this date. If the Tenant does not move out by August 10, 2021, the Tenant shall pay the Landlords $79.69 per day for compensation for the use of the unit from August 11, 2021 until the Tenant moves out. The Tenant shall also pay the Landlords $186.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount owing by August 10, 2021, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
