What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The Tenant consulted with Tenant Duty Counsel prior to the hearing. The parties discussed a payment plan for the rent arrears before the hearing.

The ruling

The Board gave the Tenant the benefit of the doubt and an opportunity to continue the tenancy based on a payment plan. The Tenant shall pay the monthly rent when due starting December 1, 2020 and $500 towards the arrears until the arrears are paid in full. If the Tenant fails to make the payments, the Landlord may apply for an order terminating the tenancy and evicting the Tenant.
