What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent as per the previous order issued on November 13, 2020.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective February 14, 2021. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $19,519.24 (less any amount paid after the application was filed) by February 14, 2021, which includes rent arrears up to February 3, 2021 and the costs from the previous application, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenant must also pay $57.98 per day for compensation for use of the unit starting February 4, 2021 until the Tenant moves out. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by February 14, 2021, the Tenant will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
