What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to persistent late payment of rent. The Tenants have been late in paying rent every month from December 2016 to February 2020.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated as of May 31, 2021. The Tenants must move out by May 31, 2021 and pay the Landlord $35.55 per day for use of the unit from May 8, 2021 until they move out, as well as $190.00 for the application filing costs. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by May 31, 2021, they will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance starting June 1, 2021. If the unit is not vacated by June 1, 2021, the Landlord can file the order with the Sheriff to enforce the eviction.
