What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to non-payment of rent. Tenants failed to pay rent from August 1, 2021, to December 31, 2021. Landlord served a Notice of Termination effective September 1, 2021. Tenants did not attend the hearing.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective January 17, 2022, unless Tenants void the order by paying $8,676.00 by that date. Tenants must pay $5,938.86 for rent arrears and compensation, plus $186.00 for application filing costs. Daily compensation of $46.52 applies from January 7, 2022, until move-out. If not vacated by January 17, 2022, the Landlord may file for eviction enforcement starting January 18, 2022.
