What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent as per the terms of a previous mediated settlement.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective August 15, 2020. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $5,293.70, representing the rent arrears, application fee, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenant must also pay $26.18 per day in compensation for use of the unit starting August 5, 2020 until the Tenant vacates. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by August 15, 2020, the Tenant will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
