What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to non-payment of rent. The application was initially dismissed due to the Landlord's absence, but the Landlord requested a review and provided evidence that an agreement had been reached prior to the hearing.

The ruling

The request for review is granted, and the order issued on April 14, 2021, is cancelled and replaced. The Tenant is ordered to pay the Landlord $8,741.69 for rent arrears and costs, less the last month's rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit, by July 11, 2021. If the Tenant fails to pay the full amount by the due date, they will start to owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
