What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to non-payment of rent. Tenants requested a review of the initial order as they were unable to participate in the original hearing. The Board granted the review and held a new hearing, resulting in a payment plan for the Tenants to pay the rent arrears while maintaining their tenancy.
The ruling
The Board granted the Tenants' request for review and cancelled the previous order. A new order was issued allowing the Tenants to remain in the unit subject to a payment plan. The Tenants must pay $600 monthly from February 1, 2022, to August 1, 2023, plus regular rent. A final payment of $332.93 is due on September 1, 2023. If the Tenants default, the Landlord may apply for eviction under section 78 of the Act.
