What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after serving a valid Notice to End Tenancy Early for Non-payment of Rent (N4 Notice), which the tenant did not void by paying the arrears. The tenant had not vacated the rental unit by the hearing date.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated unless the Tenant pays $12,086 to void the order and continue the tenancy, or $10,285.13 if the tenancy is terminated. The Tenant must also pay daily compensation of $23.01 per day starting September 14, 2022 until the Tenant vacates the unit. If the Tenant does not pay the required amount by November 20, 2022, the Landlord can file the order with the Court Enforcement Office (Sheriff) to enforce the eviction.
