What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to non-payment of rent. The Landlord also claimed charges related to NSF cheques. The Tenant was in significant rent arrears and unable to afford the rental unit due to unemployment and limited income.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated unless the Tenant voids the order by paying $14,819.80 by October 31, 2022. If not voided, the Tenant must vacate by October 31, 2022, and pay $10,975.89 plus $61.18 per day from September 30, 2022, until move-out. The eviction can be enforced from November 1, 2022, if the unit is not vacated.
