What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent as per the previous LTB order. The Tenant failed to pay the full amount of rent arrears and current rent by the specified due dates.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated, and the Tenant must vacate the unit by February 18, 2023. The Tenant is ordered to pay the Landlord $6,521.30, less any payments made after the application was filed, which represents the rent arrears up to February 7, 2023, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenant will also owe daily compensation of $33.55 per day starting February 8, 2023 until the Tenant vacates the unit.
