What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to persistent late payment of rent. The Landlord served a valid N8 Notice of Termination with a termination date of April 30, 2020. The Tenants had been persistently late in paying rent for 28 consecutive months.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective July 18, 2021. The Tenants must vacate the rental unit by that date. The Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlord $186 for the application filing fee. If the Tenants do not pay the amount owing by July 18, 2021, they will start accruing interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance. The Tenants must also pay the Landlord $44.62 per day for compensation for their continued occupancy of the unit after July 8, 2021.
