What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent and because the Landlord requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated as of September 6, 2021, the day the Tenant returned vacant possession of the rental unit to the Landlord. The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $205.71, which represents the amount of rent owing and compensation up to September 6, 2021, less the rent deposit and interest the Landlord owes on the rent deposit. The Tenant shall also pay the Landlord $201.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the Landlord the full amount owing on or before December 24, 2021, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the balance outstanding.
