What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to persistent late payment of rent. The Landlord served a valid N8 Notice of Termination on the Tenant.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective September 30, 2022. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $6,185.36 in compensation for use of the unit from March 1 to August 23, 2022, less the rent deposit and interest owed. The Tenant must also pay $43.55 per day from August 24, 2022 until move-out, and $186 in filing costs. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by September 30, 2022, interest will accrue at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
