What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The Tenant was approximately 6 months in arrears at the time of the hearing.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective August 31, 2021, unless the Tenant pays the full amount owing of $8,575 by July 31, 2021 or $9,801 by August 31, 2021 to void the order. The Tenant must also pay compensation of $39.45 per day starting July 13, 2021 until move-out. If the unit is not vacated by August 31, 2021, the Landlord may file the order with the Sheriff for enforcement.
