What happened
Landlords applied to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to non-payment of rent and the Landlords' need for possession of the rental unit for residential occupation. The Tenants had vacated the unit prior to the hearing.
The ruling
The Landlords' L2 application is withdrawn. The Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlords $9,178.77, which includes rent arrears, compensation, and the application filing fee, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by January 3, 2022, they will owe simple interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
