What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after serving a valid Notice of Termination, which the Tenant did not void by paying the arrears. The Tenant was not present at the hearing.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective June 28, 2021. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $5,357.39 in rent arrears and compensation, plus $14.01 per day starting June 18, 2021 until the Tenant vacates. The Tenant must also pay $186 in application fees. If the Tenant pays $5,724 on or before June 28, 2021, the eviction order will be void and the Tenant can remain in the unit. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by June 28, 2021, the Landlord can file the order with the Sheriff to enforce the eviction.
