What happened

Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The Landlords also claimed NSF cheque charges and related administration charges.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective May 7, 2019, the date the Tenant vacated the rental unit. The Tenant is ordered to pay the Landlords $15,802, which includes rent arrears, NSF cheque charges, and the application filing fee. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by February 28, 2021, they will owe interest at 3% annually on the outstanding balance.
