What happened

Landlord applied for an order to require Tenant to pay the rent that the Tenant owes. The Tenant vacated the rental unit on March 30, 2022 without properly terminating the tenancy.

The ruling

The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $1,493.80, which includes rent arrears up to May 30, 2022, the cost of the application, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by November 20, 2022, they will start owing interest at 4% annually on the outstanding balance.
