What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after serving a valid Notice of Termination, which the tenants did not void by paying the arrears. The tenants were in possession of the rental unit at the time of the hearing.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective August 18, 2020. The tenants must pay the landlord $1,067 in rent arrears and compensation, plus $3.62 per day from April 1, 2020 until they move out, less the rent deposit and interest. The tenants must also pay the $175 application fee. If the full amount is not paid by August 18, 2020, the landlord may file the order with the Sheriff to enforce the eviction.
