What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent as specified in a previous order. The Tenant did not meet the conditions of the previous order to pay $1,000 by November 20, 2020 and the lawful monthly rent by December 1, 2020.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective January 30, 2021. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $4,991.46, which includes rent arrears up to January 19, 2021, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenant must also pay $37.66 per day for compensation for use of the unit starting January 20, 2021 until the Tenant moves out. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by January 30, 2021, the Tenant will owe interest starting January 31, 2021.
