What happened

Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to the Landlords' need for personal use of the rental unit. The Landlords also claimed compensation for the period the Tenant remained in the unit after the termination date.

The ruling

The tenancy between the Landlords and the Tenant is terminated as of August 3, 2020. The Tenant shall pay the Landlords $2,440.90, which represents compensation for the use of the unit from June 10, 2020 to August 3, 2020. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by February 8, 2021, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
