What happened
Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant because they require possession of the rental unit for personal use. The Landlords served an N12 Notice and paid compensation equal to one month's rent. The Tenant did not question the Landlords' good faith but requested more time to find a new place.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective March 31, 2022. The Tenant must vacate the rental unit by this date. If not vacated, the Landlords may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office for eviction enforcement starting April 1, 2022. The eviction order expires on October 1, 2022, if not filed with the Sheriff by that date.
