What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent as ordered in a previous LTB order. The Tenant failed to pay the required amount towards rent arrears by the specified deadline.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective December 13, 2021. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $4,144.50, which includes the remaining rent arrears and application fee, less the rent deposit. The Tenant must also pay $54.25 per day in compensation for use of the unit starting December 3, 2021 until the Tenant vacates. If the full amount is not paid by December 13, 2021, the Tenant will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
