What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy of Tenant, evict an unauthorized occupant, and receive compensation for the use of the rental unit. The Tenant had informed the Landlord that he was no longer living in the rental unit, and the Landlord did not authorize the transfer of occupancy to the Unauthorized Occupant.
The ruling
The tenancy between the Landlord and Tenant is terminated as of March 18, 2022. The Unauthorized Occupant must move out by March 18, 2022 and pay the Landlord $7,202.85 for use of the unit from July 12, 2021 to March 7, 2022, plus $30.15 per day from March 8, 2022 until move-out, and $201 for the application filing fee. If the Unauthorized Occupant does not pay the full amount by March 18, 2022, they will owe interest at 2% on the outstanding balance.
