What happened
Tenants applied for an order determining that the Landlord withheld or deliberately interfered with the reasonable supply of a vital service, care service, or food that the Landlord is obligated to supply under the tenancy agreement. The issue was inadequate heat in the rental unit.
The ruling
The Landlord is ordered to refrain from withholding a reasonable supply of heat to the rental unit. The Landlord must pay the Tenants $4,286.56 as a 15% rent abatement for the periods when heat was inadequate, and $50 for the cost of filing the application. The total amount of $4,336.56 must be paid by March 31, 2021, after which interest will accrue.
