What happened
Landlord applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to non-payment of rent and the Landlord's need to occupy the rental unit for his own use. The Tenant withheld rent for 3 months due to the Landlord cutting off his internet and not allowing him to install his own.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated. The Tenant must move out by February 12, 2019. The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $1,604.29 after offsetting the rent deposit and interest. The Tenant shall also pay $13.56 per day for compensation starting February 2, 2019 until the Tenant moves out. The Landlord is entitled to file the order with the Court Enforcement Office (Sheriff) if the unit is not vacated by February 12, 2019.
