What happened

Landlords applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to non-payment of rent, the Landlords' need for personal use of the unit, and the Tenant's illegal activities. The Tenant had not paid rent since June 2020 and the Landlords served the required notices.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective January 11, 2021 due to the Landlords' need for personal use of the unit and the Tenant's non-payment of rent. The Tenant must pay $15,683.53 to the Landlord, which includes rent arrears, compensation, and application fees, less the rent deposit and interest. The Tenant must also pay $131.51 per day starting January 1, 2021 until the unit is vacated. If the full amount is paid by January 11, 2021, the eviction order will be void.
