What happened
Landlord applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to the Tenant causing a fire in the rental unit, which resulted in substantial damage to the unit and the residential complex, and seriously impaired the safety of other tenants.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective September 5, 2021. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $35,000 for the damages caused by the fire, $4.57 per day for use of the unit after September 5, 2021, and $186 for the application fee. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by September 5, 2021, the Landlord may file the order with the Sheriff for enforcement.
