What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to non-payment of rent. The Landlord served a Notice of Termination effective January 1, 2022. The Tenants failed to pay rent from May 1, 2021, to January 31, 2022.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective March 5, 2022, unless Tenants void the order by paying the full amount owing. Tenants must pay $2,840.58 for rent arrears and compensation up to February 22, 2022, plus $40.60 per day thereafter until they vacate. Tenants must also pay $186.00 for the application filing fee. If full payment is not made by March 5, 2022, the Landlord may file for eviction enforcement.
