What happened
The Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenants due to their failure to meet a condition specified in a mediated settlement issued by the Board on January 23, 2020. The Tenants failed to pay the rent of $670.00 on or before March 1, 2020, as required by the settlement.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated, and the Tenants must move out of the rental unit on or before August 23, 2020. The Tenants shall pay the Landlord $4,510.00, which represents the rent owing up to March 31, 2020 and the costs related to the application fee for the previous application. The Tenants shall also pay the Landlord $22.03 per day for compensation for the use of the unit starting April 1, 2020 until the date the Tenants move out. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount owing by August 23, 2020, they will start to owe interest at 3.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
