What happened
Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenant to pay the rent that the Tenant owes. The Tenant vacated the rental unit on October 10, 2020 and did not pay the total rent the Tenant was required to pay for the period from June 1, 2020 to October 31, 2020.
The ruling
The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $2,010.55, which represents the amount of rent owing up to October 31, 2020, less the rent deposit and interest the Landlord owes on the rent deposit. The Tenant shall also pay the Landlord $201.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount owing by June 4, 2021, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the balance outstanding.
