What happened
Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after serving a valid Notice to End Tenancy Early for Non-payment of Rent (N4 Notice), which the Tenant did not void by paying the arrears.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective April 30, 2018. The Tenant must pay $4,465.74 to the Landlords, which includes rent arrears up to March 29, 2018 and the application filing fee, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenant must also pay $16.44 per day in compensation starting March 30, 2018 until the Tenant vacates. The Tenant can void the eviction order by paying $5,460 on or before April 14, 2018 or $5,960 on or before April 30, 2018.
