What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent as per a previous order. The Tenants did not meet the conditions specified in the previous order, including not paying $1,000 by June 20, 2021 and not paying the lawful rent of $1,540 by July 1, 2021.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated and the Tenants must vacate the unit by August 14, 2021. The Tenants must pay the Landlord $7,657.94, which includes rent arrears up to July 31, 2021 and costs from the previous application, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenants must also pay $50.63 per day for compensation for use of the unit starting August 1, 2021 until they move out.
