What happened

Tenants applied for an order determining that Landlords have collected or retained money illegally. Landlords collected $200 security deposit from each Tenant, which they did not return when Tenants vacated the unit.

The ruling

Landlords shall pay Tenants $400 for the illegal security deposit and $53 for the cost of filing the application, for a total of $453. If Landlords do not pay by November 14, 2021, they will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
