What happened

Landlords applied to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to non-payment of rent. The Tenants did not pay the full rent from November 1, 2020 to August 31, 2021, and the Landlords served a valid N4 Notice of Termination. The Tenants were not present at the hearing.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective October 9, 2021. The Tenants must pay the Landlords $553.45, which includes rent arrears up to the termination date and the application filing fee, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenants must also pay $65.75 per day in compensation for use of the unit starting September 29, 2021 until they vacate. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by October 9, 2021, the Landlords may file the order with the Sheriff to enforce the eviction.
