Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective July 11, 2021. The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $9,495.38, which represents the rent owing to June 30, 2021 and the Landlord's filing fee, less the rent deposit and interest owing on the deposit. The Tenant shall also pay the Landlord $76.61 per day in compensation for the use of the unit from July 1, 2021 to the date that he vacates the rental unit. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount owing by July 11, 2021, he will owe simple interest calculated from July 12, 2021 at 2.00% annually on the balance outstanding.
