What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to non-payment of rent. Tenants owed $4,462.22 in rent arrears for the period from April 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021. Landlord served a Notice of Termination effective July 23, 2021. Tenants did not attend the hearing.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective January 17, 2022, unless Tenants void the order by paying $9,811.98 on or before that date. Tenants must pay Landlord $7,448.78 for rent arrears and compensation, plus $42.44 per day from January 7, 2022, until they move out. Tenants also owe $186.00 for application filing costs. If full payment is not made by January 17, 2022, the Landlord may file for eviction enforcement starting January 18, 2022.
