What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy of Tenant and evict Unauthorized Occupant, and for compensation for the use of the rental unit. The Tenant had failed to pay rent in February 2020 and vacated the unit, and the Landlord found the Unauthorized Occupant living in the unit without a lease agreement.

The ruling

The tenancy between the Landlord and Tenant is terminated as of February 16, 2021. The Unauthorized Occupant must move out of the rental unit by May 21, 2021 and pay the Landlord $21,821.92 in compensation for use of the unit, plus an additional $48.49 per day from May 11, 2021 until the date they move out. The Unauthorized Occupant must also pay the Landlord $190 for the cost of filing the application.
