What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after the Tenant failed to meet the conditions specified in a previous order issued on December 8, 2020.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective August 9, 2021. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $1,429.15, which includes rent arrears up to July 29, 2021 and costs from the previous application, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenant must also pay $6.02 per day in compensation for use of the unit starting July 30, 2021 until the Tenant vacates. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by August 9, 2021, the Tenant will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
