What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to non-payment of rent. The Tenants failed to pay rent for the period from September 1, 2020, to July 31, 2021. The Landlord served a Notice of Termination effective January 30, 2021. The Tenants did not attend the hearing.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective February 11, 2022, unless the Tenants void the order by paying the specified amounts. The Tenants must pay $10,691.80 for rent arrears and compensation up to January 31, 2022, plus $42.97 per day from February 1, 2022, until they move out. The Tenants must also pay $186.00 for the application filing cost. If full payment is not made by February 11, 2022, the Landlord may file for eviction enforcement.
