What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The Landlord served a valid Notice of Termination effective April 1, 2020 due to rent arrears. The Tenant was in possession of the rental unit at the time of the application.
The ruling
The order is limited to the Landlord's cost of filing the application, which the Tenant must pay by December 25, 2020. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by the due date, the Tenant will start to owe simple interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
