What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenant to pay the rent that the Tenant owes. The Tenant vacated the rental unit on April 27, 2021 and did not pay $6,660.00 of the total rent the Tenant was required to pay for the period from April 1, 2020 to April 31, 2021.

The ruling

The Tenant shall pay to the Landlord $5,996.70, which represents the amount of rent owing up to April 27, 2021 ($6,455.70), plus the application filing fee ($201.00), minus the last month's rent deposit ($660.00). If the Tenant does not pay the Landlord the full amount owing on or before August 22, 2021, the Tenant will start to owe interest at a rate of 2.00% annually on the balance outstanding.
