What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant because the Landlord in good faith requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation for at least one year.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective September 5, 2023. The Tenant must move out of the rental unit on or before September 5, 2023. The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $3,945.21 for compensation for use and occupation of the unit from May 1, 2023 to June 29, 2023. The Landlord owes the Tenant $2,016.58 which is the amount of the rent deposit and interest on the rent deposit, and this must be deducted from the amount owing by the Tenant.
