What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after serving a valid Notice to End Tenancy Early for Non-payment of Rent (N4 Notice), which the Tenant did not void by paying the arrears. The Tenant was incarcerated at the time of the hearing.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective December 11, 2020. The Tenant must pay $799.20 in rent arrears and compensation, plus $4.80 per day starting November 14, 2020 until the Tenant vacates. The Tenant can void the order and continue the tenancy by paying $1,051 by November 30, 2020 or $1,197 by December 11, 2020.
