What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The Tenant had not paid any rent since May 2020 due to loss of income, but was receiving some financial assistance from family and was looking for work.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective February 15, 2021. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $6,422.05, plus $27.08 per day starting January 23, 2021 until the Tenant vacates the unit. The Tenant can void the eviction order by paying $7,475.46 by January 31, 2021 or $8,299.19 by February 15, 2021.
