What happened

Tenant applied for an order determining that Landlord harassed, obstructed, coerced, threatened or interfered with the Tenant, altered the locking system on a door giving entry to the rental unit or residential complex without giving the Tenant replacement keys, substantially interfered with the reasonable enjoyment of the rental unit or residential complex by the Tenant or by a member of the Tenant's household and withheld or deliberately interfered with the reasonable supply of a vital service, care service, or food that the Landlord is obligated to supply under the tenancy agreement.

The ruling

The Landlord is ordered to pay the Tenant $375 as an abatement for the period of hydro disconnection, and $53 for the cost of filing the application, for a total of $428. If the Landlord does not pay the full amount by November 22, 2021, the Tenant will be owed interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
