What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to the Landlord's requirement of the rental unit for personal use by the Landlord's son. The Landlord served a valid N12 notice and provided the required compensation to the Tenant.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective January 31, 2021. The Tenant must move out of the rental unit on or before September 3, 2021. The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $7,613.28 (less any amounts already paid) as compensation for use of the unit from February 1, 2021 to August 23, 2021, and an additional $37.32 per day from August 24, 2021 until the Tenant moves out. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by September 3, 2021, the Tenant will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
