What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent. The Tenants were in possession of the rental unit and owed rent arrears from November 1, 2019 to September 30, 2020.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective October 31, 2020. The Tenants must pay the Landlord $4,961.98, which includes rent arrears and application costs, less the rent deposit and interest. The Tenants must also pay $48.50 per day for compensation for use of the unit from September 29, 2020 until they move out. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by October 9, 2020, they will owe interest. If the unit is not vacated by October 31, 2020, the Landlord may file the order for enforcement.
