What happened

Tenants applied for an order determining that Landlords entered the rental unit illegally and withheld or deliberately interfered with the reasonable supply of a vital service, care service, or food that the Landlords are obligated to supply under the tenancy agreement. The Landlords filed notices to terminate the tenancy, which were dismissed by the Board.

The ruling

The Landlords shall pay the Tenants a total rent abatement of $550.00 due to the illegal entries into the rental unit, and $48.00 for the cost of filing the application. The total amount the Landlords owe is $598.00, which must be paid by March 18, 2022. If the Landlords do not pay, they will owe interest and the Tenants may deduct the amount from their rent.
